Abstract

The concept of beauty is strongly associated with young skin, without dyschromia or aesthetic dysfunctions, such as spots, wrinkles or loss of elasticity. One of the treatments that attenuate and slows the aging process of the skin consists of the microneedling technique, which can be used as a potentiator of permeation of active, such as vitamin C, which acts in the fight against aging due to its antioxidant function. From the perspective of the search for a better aesthetic aspect, the objective of the present study is to elucidate the mechanisms related to microneedling and its association with vitamin C in the process of facial rejuvenation. As a methodology  or this integrative review of the literature, were searched scientific articles and books of indexed bases such as Scielo, PubMed, Google academic and Lilacs, using the following terms according to DeCS: microneedling, vitamin C, antioxidants, and aging. Microneedling has been shown to be effective in the permeation of substances, such as vitamin C since it occurs in this process: the stimulation of fibroblast production, the increase in collagen synthesis as well as the action of antioxidant properties that promote facial rejuvenation.
